Event Inventories (abstract submission)
I have submitted an abstract for the ASLA Visual Stewardship Conference 2023, based on an idea that emerged from our sunset-sunrise article. In the abstract we attempt to estimate the temporality of landscape scenic resources based on user-contributed data and the signed chi-equation. The chi measurement was useful due to its ability to subtract global, underlying and generic patterns from local observations, such as crowd frequentation or temporal visitation patterns.
The approach is feasible, based on my initial tests (see the two Jupyter notebooks below).
